Jun Cao, PhD

Dr. Jun Cao has been working for malaria control/elimination since 2000 in Jiangsu Institute of Parasitic Diseases (JIPD), PR. China. At present, he is severing as Associate Professor and Deputy Director of the institute, to provide malaria elimination project planning and implementation. He received PhD from Soochow University in 2009, and trained as Post-doc in Johns Hopkins University School of Public Health from 2009-1010. He was granted by several foundations such as National Nature Foundation of China, and published more than 80 papers on peer-review journal, 31 of them was SCI or SCIE, and 13 papers as first or corresponding author. 

He severed as Standing Committee Member of Jiangsu Preventive Medicine Association Parasitology Committee, editor member of Tropical Medicine and Health and Chinese Journal of Schistosomiasis Control, Ad hoc reviewer for several journals, such as Emerging Infectious Diseases, Malaria Journal, American Journal of Tropical Medicine & Hygiene, Infectious Diseases of Poverty, PLOS ONE, Parasites & Vectors, and so on.

He also served as one of the active malaria experts in China for national malaria control/elimination program. He provides technical training not only for local technicians, but also for international health workers from Africa and South East Asia. Up to now, more than 30 international training courses were held and over 1000 participants from more than 50 countries were trained in JIPD, and has involved training activates in Kenya, Myanmar, Philippine, and Grenada. 

His research interests are clinical microbiology & infectious diseases.
