Kai Zhou, PhD

Dr. Zhou received his PhD in faculty of bioscience engineering from KU Leuven, Belgium. He later worked as postdoc in department of clinical microbiology of University Medical Center Groningen, Netherlands. Now he is working as an assistant research professor in the First Affiliated Hospital of Medicine School of Zhejiang University. He also serves as an editor border member of Frontiers in Microbiology, Frontiers in Medicine, and Frontiers in Public Health. His major research interests are molecular resistance mechanism and epidemiology of antibiotic-resistant pathogens, use of whole genome sequencing to develop diagnostic makers for pathogens, genome evolution and adaptation, infection prevention and control, and microbiome. He has published over 20 high-quality peer-reviewed papers, including Lancet Infectious Disease, FEMS Microbiology Reviews, Clinical Microbiology and Infection, Scientific Reports, Journal of Antimicrobial Chemotherapy, Frontiers in Microbiology, Plos One etc. The total impact factors are over 110 with citation over 95 times.
