Dr Pierre Delanaye was born in Liège, Belgium, in 1974. He completed his medical training at the University of Liège in Belgium and received MD in 1999. After nephrological training at the University of Liège in 2004, Dr. Delanaye got his PhD at the Department of Nephrology at the University Hospital of Liège in 2011.
Dr. Delanaye is currently Nephrologist at the University Hospital of Liège (CHU Sart Tilman), Belgium. His daily practice is the care of hemodialysis patients. His clinical research interest is the estimation and measurement of glomerular filtration rate, the epidemiology of CKD and Mineral Bone Disease in dialysis patients. In his research, he underlines the strong and necessary links between Nephrology and Clinical Chemistry. He has published extensively (more than 200 scientific papers in Journals indexed on PubMed) on the epidemiology of CKD, on the evaluation of eGFR formulas and on bone biomarkers in the context of hemodialysis.
