Ping Wang is currently Chief of Clinical Chemistry and Director of Core Laboratory at Hospital of University of Pennsylvania, and Associate Professor of Pathology and Laboratory Medicine at University of Pennsylvania.
Dr. Wang received her BS degree from Tsinghua University, followed by a PhD from the University of Wisconsin-Madison. She completed a fellowship in Clinical Chemistry from the University of California-San Francisco. Dr. Wang is board certified in Clinical Chemistry, Toxicological Chemistry and Molecular Diagnostics.
Dr. Wang’s research focus is to develop and translate novel methods for disease diagnosis and prognosis. One specific focus is next-generation central laboratory methods and point of care devices with novel sensors, materials and microfluidics. She has served as PI and co-PI for many federal, institutional and industry-funded projects, and serves on multiple NIH study sections. She has published about 100 papers, abstracts and book chapters.
Dr. Wang has been elected as President of American Board of Clinical Chemistry serving the term 2017-2018, Chair of the Personalized Medicine Division of AACC for term 2019-2020. She is co-Editor of Reviews for the journal Clinical Chemistry.
